Questions
What goes in box 7?
The distribution code (one or two characters, such as 7 for a normal distribution or G for a direct rollover) from the Form 1099-R instructions. Check the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box when the distribution came from one of those accounts.
What changed on the 2026 Form 1099-R?
The 2026 edition adds box 7c for Trump accounts and box 7d for earnings on excess contributions, and prints the name and address on separate lines. Choose 2026 and the editor shows those boxes.
Which tax years can I prepare Form 1099-R for?
2025 and 2026. Each year uses the IRS edition in effect for it, and the preview shows exactly that edition.
How much does Form 1099-R cost?
$12.99 per recipient, paid once at checkout. There is no account, subscription or extra fee, and you see the full filled form before you pay.
