Questions

Where does tax-exempt interest go?

Box 8 reports tax-exempt interest, such as interest on municipal bonds. Interest from specified private activity bonds is also reported in box 9.

Is the account number required?

Only when a payer has more than one account for the same recipient or when the instructions call for it; otherwise you can leave it blank. It prints in the account number box exactly as you enter it.

Which tax years can I prepare Form 1099-INT for?

2025 and 2026. Each year uses the IRS edition in effect for it, and the preview shows exactly that edition.

How much does Form 1099-INT cost?

$9.99 per recipient, paid once at checkout. There is no account, subscription or extra fee, and you see the full filled form before you pay.
